PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS CAREFULLY, SO THAT YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE NEW PROTOCOLS OF THE SALON.
In light of the COVID -19 pandemic, the salon will be reopening following the strict guidelines set forth by the CDC/OSHA, along with the Delaware state board of cosmetology safety and sanitation rules already in place. We are following these recommendations in order to protect the safety of our guests as well as our staff. Visiting a salon is regarded as a medium risk activity and by putting these parameters in place we hope to minimize the risk for everyone concerned. We are looking forward to seeing our salon family. Here’s what you can expect.
WHAT WILL BE DIFFERENT
No waiting room, no magazines, and no refreshments available. All food and drink is prohibited in the salon.
The salon door is locked at all times.
We are limiting services at this time: NO waxing, NO manicures, NO beard trims, NO blow dry styling.
You may not bring anyone with you to your appointment – 1 stylist/1 client.
COVID 19 FEE: Due to the increased cost of sanitization/protection supplies , as well as, the increased scheduling time to allow for proper sanitization of the salon, we have had to institute a fee of $10 for each client appointment. We apologize in advance for this but it is truly something beyond our control. Unfortunately for now and until things normalize this has become a very necessary cost of doing business. We thank you in advance for your understanding and continued patronage.
HAIR COLOR: Understanding that all of you have gone beyond your usual 4-5 week visit for color it is necessary for us to implement an extra application fee to cover the cost of additional product/time for your service ($25 and up).
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF YOU, OUR GUEST
We will be taking your temperature at the door. Anything over 99.5 will result in cancellation of your appointment. You will then have to sign a COVID -19 questionnaire /waiver.
YOU MUST WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES.
Ear loop style is preferred as well as an extra if you are scheduled for a hair color service
We need your cell phone number. It is how we will let you know when we have completed sanitizing from the previous guest and are ready for you to come to the door. Please have it with you and turned on.
Your hair must be shampooed within twelve hours of your appointment. If you are scheduled for hair color please make sure your hair is dry. We will be shampooing your hair at the salon, but this is a precaution we have been advised to take.
You must be on time for your appointment. We have a rigorous routine of cleaning between each guest, so we must rescind our usual 15- minute grace period. It is imperative that you are on time to allow us proper sanitation/disinfecting time between guests.
***THE CITY OF WILMINGTON IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON MANY ROADS AND YOUR NORMAL ROUTE MAY NOT BE OPEN, SO PLEASE ALLOW ENOUGH TIME. IF YOU ARE LATE , YOUR APPOINTMENT WILL BE CANCELLED.
Please limit your personal items to what can be carried on your person. Leave bags, purses and the like at home or in the TRUNK of your car.
WHAT WE ARE DOING DIFFERENT
We will wear a mask, safety goggles/face shields, and gloves when possible
Our stylist aprons and client drapes will be new for each guest.
Hand sanitizer is available at all times.
We are following a rigorous disinfection procedure between each guest, of chairs, door handles, counters, shampoo bowls, stations, desk ,
v/mc credit card equipment, the bathroom, as well as any tools/supplies used on our guests.
Keeping our retail shelves covered and all products disinfected for each guest.
Our time is at a premium like never before, so to be fair to all our guests we must charge a fee for missed appointments if you do not notify the salon in advance. The fee charged is based on the service scheduled.
Safety of our guests and our staff is our number one priority. We want to be safe and we want you to be safe. Please be patient. It will take all of us some time to adjust to these new protocols. We look forward to seeing you in the salon and working our magic. Until then stay safe, be well, and wash your hands.

COVID-19 SERVICES INFORMATION AND LIABILITY WAIVER
In consideration for receiving professional services provided by John J Samluk Inc/dba Matilda’s Off Market Salon, clients by signing below you agree to accept all responsibility for the risk that you may contract COVID-19. COVID-19 is a highly contagious virus that spreads from person to person. In addition to long-held and explicit sanitation measures this business has always adhered to, new preventative safety and sanitation measures have been put in place to further reduce the spread of COVID-19. While we are taking your safety and that of our staff very seriously, we cannot guarantee that any of these measures will completely protect you from contracting COVID-19.

I understand that, because cosmetology involves maintained touch and close physical proximity over an extended period of time, there may be an elevated risk of disease transmission, including COVID-19. By signing this form, I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved from receiving treatment at this time, I voluntarily agree to assume those risks, and I release and hold harmless John J Samluk Inc/dba Matilda’s Off Market Salon, collectively and or any John J Samluk Inc/dba Matilda’s Off Market Salon practitioner individually from any claims related thereto. I give my consent to receive treatment from this practitioner.
